Field Terms of Use

Regular Terms

Bow Wow Adventure Playground is intended to be a fun place, but it must also be safe. By using the facilities you agree to the following Terms of Use.

GOLDEN RULES

1. Failure to pick up dog waste, rubbish or toys will lead to the refusal of future use. If you find anything left by a previous user, please pick it up, place it in the lost and found box and let us know. Please leave 5 minutes prior to the end of your session to check the field is clear. Spot checks take place.

Poo bags should be taken back to the car park and placed in the poo bin provided. All other rubbish should be taken away with you.

2. Bookings start on the hour. Your first 5 minutes are to get out of your vehicle and make your way to the field. Your 45-minute session will then start, it will finish at 10 minutes to the hour. Please leave promptly at the end of your session; any user who overstays will be restricted from using the field in the future. Your last 5 minutes are to secure the field using the padlock, walk back to your vehicle and leave the site.

Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early to your session. You and your dogs must remain in vehicles until your session begins.

E.g. Booking starts at 1.00 pm. Please allow 5 minutes to get your dogs out of the vehicle and walk to the field from the car park. 45 minutes use of the field (until 1.50 pm). 5-minute walk back from the field to your car,  get your dogs back in the car and off the site promptly by 1.55pm. The next booking session starts on the hour, you will need to have left promptly by then to allow the next users to park their cars.

3. We suggest you use the padlock to lock yourselves in the field. When you leave, please make sure you lock the gate using the padlock, even if there are people coming up the track towards the field.

4. We strongly suggest that dogs are kept up-to-date with vaccinations (including kennel cough) or titer tested and regularly treated for flea, tick and worm prevention. If titer testing we also suggest the leptospirosis vaccination.

THE IMPORTANT STUFF

Use of the field is entirely at your own risk. Bow Wow Dog Adventures and the Bow Wow Adventure Playground accepts no liability for the death of or any injury of any person or dog, or for damage to your property. Bow Wow Dog Adventures and the Bow Wow Adventure Playground also accepts no liability for any losses, claims, actions, damages, costs, expenses or other liability incurred whilst onsite. Your and your dogs' behaviour and actions are your sole responsibility and no claim can be made against Bow Wow Pet Services or the Bow Wow Adventure Playground.

You are liable for any damage caused inside and outside of the field by you, your dog(s) or any person in your party. All dogs must be covered under their own third party insurance (public liability insurance). This is usually included in your pet insurance.

We are located in a rural setting amongst working farmland. Therefore, Bow Wow Adventure Playground may not be suitable for all dogs due to the proximity of agricultural vehicles, sounds of neighbouring farm dogs, gunshots and bird scarers. Please assess the suitability for your own dog or contact us for more information.

ARRIVING & LEAVING

You and your dogs must remain in your vehicle until it is your turn to use the field. Allowing dogs out of cars in the car park when the previous user is in the field could have consequences for nervous and/or reactive dogs.

Vehicles must only be parked in the allocated bays provided. We share this area with the local farmer and they need to be able to move machinery through here on any given day.

When you get your dogs out of your car they MUST be on lead until the gate is secured behind you in the field.

Follow the signs up to the dog field, there is access up the side of a field being used for agriculture. Please keep your dogs on lead all the way up and until you are in the dog field.

Upon making your way up to the field you will notice a rope barrier. This will be down if no one is in the field and up if someone is. If it is still up and it is your allocated time slot, please ring the number on the golden rules sign (located near parking bays 1 and 2) for assistance. Please pull the rope across as you walk up to the field and hook it on the post provided. This signals to others that you are in the field and lets them know not to proceed up the grass track. We do this as nervous and/or reactive dogs may find it distressing to pass strangers/other dogs on the grass track leading to and from the field.

Never enter the field while somebody else is in it. There is a lock to lock yourself in to prevent anyone from entering when you are inside.

Field gate: on leaving the field, please always lock the field gate, even if someone is waiting to come in. This is to ensure that only authorised users can access the facility. Never divulge your passcode to anyone.

Do not drop litter or leave toys or uneaten treats in the field. Dogs may swallow them and become ill, so please take everything home with you at the end of your session.

No smoking anywhere on site.

If dogs wish to dig, encourage them to use the digging sand pit provided. Any holes dug outside of the pit must be refilled and reported for safety and security reasons.

EQUIPMENT

Bow Wow Dog Adventures and Bow Wow Adventure Playground is not liable for any death, damage, injury or loss to any person or animal while using the facility or the equipment within it, or to any third party as a result of any person or dog.

Please be aware that there may be some equipment not suited for your dogs e.g. dogs under 18 months old may be restricted from using some of the Adventure Playground equipment due to their developing growth plates. We will discuss this with you upon your introduction session.

Before using the facility or the equipment within it, we encourage that you visit the vet to ensure that dogs are physically fit and strong enough to perform activities within the field.

Be mindful when using equipment in wet or icy conditions that surfaces become slippery. It is your responsibility to restrict use of these when necessary.

Dogs must never be picked up and placed on obstacles. When using equipment above ground level we strongly recommend dogs should wear a harness so that they can be supported during the exercise.

Never push dogs to do anything that they are not physically or mentally capable of. Allow dogs to go at their own pace and always let them choose whether they want to do it or not. Ensure dogs warm up properly first.

The equipment is for canine use only, not for human adults or children to climb on. Children are welcome on the field but must be supervised by an adult at all times. Please do not let children climb on any gates or equipment.

HEALTH & WELFARE

Do not bring your dog to the field if they are or have been unwell in the last 48 hours. Doing so could be harmful to other dogs.

All sessions must comply with Bow Wow Adventure Playground’s and Bow Wow Dog Adventures’s reward-based training values. We reserve the right to cancel or end any session that may not comply.

Never leave dogs unattended in the field and no dogs are to be left in vehicles while you walk other dogs in the field.

Please monitor the weather forecast and assess whether you and your dog will be comfortable in the weather that is forecast for your session. We are an outdoor facility exposed to the elements; in winter the ground will be muddy and slippery. If it’s sunny it may be hot. We strongly advise you to cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance if the weather is not suitable for you.

If booking one of the later slots in the autumn/winter you may want to bring a torch with you as there is only natural daylight in the field.

If you wish to use the field with a professional or if you are a professional and would like to use the field with your clients, please contact us.
